How Therapy Can Help

Sometimes, life can feel very heavy, and our natural inclination is often to be hard on ourselves, while it might be the last thing we actually need. This is one of the many reasons counselling can be very powerful. It helps you cultivate new, more uplifting ways of thinking and being with yourself.

Learning to be kind and compassionate towards yourself is where everything begins. This is an integral part of the process. Facing and sitting with your pain is often unavoidable to rebuild what is broken. Confronting my sources of suffering was crucial for me to smile again. I was helped, and now I am passionate about paying it forward.

I offer a non-judgemental space where you feel heard, and we can collaborate. Sharing your life challenges with someone you feel comfortable with can lighten the load on your path toward healing.  Every step counts, and you don’t have to carry the burden alone.

Together, we can look at where you are right now, where you want to be, and create a holistic plan to break through any barriers and discover your power.

As you are unique, my approach depends on what you need and resonate with.

Frequently Asked Questions

Whether triggered by a specific event or challenging emotions—such as anxiety or sadness—when it becomes too much, it simply becomes overwhelming.

For In-person sessions, as the environment plays a crucial role in the therapeutic experience, it is essential that you feel comfortable where you are. I offer my services from two different offices within the same location. On Thursdays, you'll find me ready to assist you in a warm interior office. Then, on Fridays and Saturdays, I'll be pleased to welcome you to a charming window office.

  • Please provide 24 hours notice to avoid any fees if you need to reschedule or change a session. Appointments can be amended by logging into your Jane account here, or email me at lola@lolarozan.com.

  • It depends. Most of my clients start with a session per week or a session every two weeks. I wouldn’t recommend spreading appointments out further than every three weeks, except if we have already been working together and you do feel better. Consistency is a key aspect of therapy work. It's like going to the gym. We cannot build muscle if we go only once every two months.

  • As everyone is unique, it varies. Some people do feel better after 3 or 4 sessions and decide to stop there, while others may feel better after ten. Some continue to come on an ongoing basis for longer periods. Initially, people may be worried about coming (which is totally normal), but many of my clients actually enjoy the work. As they start to feel better, they continue to come as part of their self-care practice.
